Habimana Thomas who is the headmaster of Hope Technical Secondary School, located in Rubavu District and an artist known as Thomson in songs such as 'Messengers of the People', has submitted his candidacy to be the head of state.

 

This man who wants to be an independent candidate for the position of President of the Republic in the elections scheduled for July 2024, submitted his candidacy to the Electoral Commission, which was accepted.

On May 29, 2024 at 5:15 p.m., Habimana Thomas became the sixth person to submit his candidacy for the position of President in the elections scheduled for the 15th for Rwandans in Rwanda and July 14, 2024 for Rwandans living abroad. .

Thomas said that he came up with the idea of ​​campaigning because of who he is and where Rwanda has come 30 years after the Genocide against the Tutsi was stopped.

 He said, "I grew up understanding that one day, when I turn 35 years old, I will submit my candidacy in order to contribute to the building of my country and to leave achievements in the development of the country."

He emphasized that he already lives as a politician and that he is a school principal and that he is confident that he can be elected.

He said, “I hope that I will submit my candidacy to someone who has destroyed who I am while still being a candidate. It is important for me to show that the effort put in by the government of the unity of Rwanda for the development of our country is one of the results.

He went on to say that he decided to put his candidacy for the position of the head of the country because it is a seat that changes things in any way when someone is trusted.

Habimana revealed that if he is not elected it is a good step for him because he is still young so he can compete again in the future.

Habimana Thomas popularly known as Thomson in music said that he will not give up his art due to the fact that he has joined politics so much that he is already contributing to the building of the nation through songs.
